Our committed, friendly and well-qualified nursery team provides high quality care and learning opportunities for children aged between 2-5 years.

We are open from 8.45am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, excluding bank holidays and three staff training days.

Autumn Term
In the Autumn term we focused on the topics Festivals & celebrations, Road safety and Change of weather.
The children learned about the different festivals that are celebrated around the world. This included reading stories, making props and decorations to enhance their understanding of different religions and faiths.
As part of road safety week the children learned how to stay safe when crossing the road, what the traffic light signals means and the different types of vehicles we have on the road. The children carried out role play in the construction and garden area and made vehicles using different available shapes.
As the weather is changing, the children read stories on the different seasons, looking at the different changes that are happening in the outdoor environment and what clothing we need to wear to stay warm.
The children have enjoyed making their own leaves using the chalk boards in the garden and using different types of mark making resources. The children discussed the different types of animals that hibernate during the cold season and have made their own hedgehogs using playdough and spaghetti.
About us
We offer a stimulating approach to early years development and learning for very young children. Within a safe, friendly and fun environment, children are supported by qualified, caring staff in developing a wide range of skills and interests. The children enjoy learning through play experiences in bright indoor and outdoor play areas with exciting outings planned regularly.
Our nursery plans its activities in accordance with with a strong focus on exploratory, imaginative play and healthy eating. We recognise and understand the huge benefits that free flow play has on the positive development of very young children. Every child in our care is supported by a key person who understands their individual needs and offers special care and support to them.
Rigorous health & safety and safeguarding policies and procedures are in place to ensure every child is protected and feels safe and happy with us.
To ensure consistency of quality and practice, all settings follow the same policies and procedures which meet Ofsted and other legal requirements. These are available for you to see and you are free to discuss anything in the policies and procedures with your key person or the setting manager.

Our Team
Our well qualified, committed and experienced team works hard to create a caring and learning environment in the nursery. We know every child develops differently and at different times. Every child has a key person who understands their individual needs and interests. This helps us to ensure every child feels involved, stimulated and happy in our care.
We follow rigorous staff recruitment and supervision procedures to ensure anyone joining our team undertakes relevant security checks including Disclosure and Barring Service, references and qualification checks. Parents are reassured knowing child protection and safeguarding underpins every aspect of our practice and will continue to remain a priority for us.
Your child's 'key person'
Every child who joins the nursery receives support from an experienced member of the team. They are responsible for your child’s individual needs and known as the ‘key person’. The key person is your main point of contact however all nursery staff are happy to feedback on your child’s developmental progress on a daily basis or discuss any concerns with you. They will also keep records of your child’s progress and achievement, which are always available for you to see and contribute towards.
Your child’s key person will make time to find out from you about your child’s interests, likes, dislikes and special requirements. Please share any important or useful information when you register your child and throughout their time with us. This helps us to give your child the most appropriate care. You can access and contribute to your child's progress in their records.
The Foxcubs Nursery team
All of our team are Paediatric First Aid trained, have completed at least Level 1 Safeguarding (most have also completed Level 2), have completed various qualifications in Food Hygiene & Safety training and Food Allergies Awareness and most of the team are Fire Warden trained.

I am a qualified Early Years Teacher, and have been a manager at Foxcubs since January 2017. I have completed LSCB Safeguarding Level 1, Prevent, Food allergy and Food Awareness training.

Safina - Deputy Manager & Early Years Teacher
I am a qualified Early Years Teacher, Wrap trained, and I have worked at Foxcubs since April 2008. From becoming a Room Leader of the foundation room I now support Shaheena as a Deputy Manager.

Tina - Room Leader
I am qualified in NNEB Diploma in nursery nursing and NVQ L4 in childcare. I have completed Food Hygiene, food allergy awareness and Prevent course. I started at Foxcubs June 2020 and my favourite nursery rhyme is "zoom zoom zoom"
am qualified in Early Years Childcare Level 2. I started at Foxcubs in Feb 2017 as a Volunteer. I then took on the role as 1-1 Special Educational Needs assisstant supporting a child with 1-1 planned activities. I have completed LSCB Safeguarding Level 1, Prevent and a wellbeing course. Zathoon - Nursery Practitioner
I am Level 3 qualified in Early Years and work in the Foundation Room. I have worked at Foxcubs Nursery since May 2008.

FAQs
How do I apply for a place?
You can book a visit and come and have a look around. You can ring or email us and speak to someone in the office. We usually have a large intake in September so please apply in plenty of time to secure your child's place as we operate a waiting list.
What should I dress my child in?
Please ensure your child is in weather appropriate clothing and suitable footwear. No open-toed shoes, sandals or crocs should be worn. It is always handy to bring in a backpack containing spare clothes in case they need a change.
Do you offer the 30 hours entitlement?
Yes we do! You will be eligible for the 30-hour funded childcare offer if:
You earn more than the equivalent of 16 hours at the national living wage or minimum wage per week: for example, £120 per week if you are 25 or older.
How can we find out if we are eligible for the 30 hours?
You will be able to apply for both the 30-hour offer and tax-free childcare using a single application available online via the . If you are eligible, you will be given an 11-digit code that you will need to take to your childcare provider along with your national insurance number and your child’s birth certificate for it to be validated.
What sessions do you offer?
Sessions are term time.
Morning sessions are Monday to Friday 8.45am -11.45am
Afternoon sessions are Monday to Friday 12.30pm – 3.30am
If you are eligible for the 30 hours tax free childcare our sessions are:
Monday to Friday – 9.00am – 3.00pm or 9.30am – 3.30pm
Any flexibility?
We are flexible with our hours depending on available space.
What do I have to do if my child is going to be absent?
Please contact us by telephone to let us know so we can let their class teachers know. Absentees will be logged in the child absent book. Some illnesses have an exclusion period and we can let you know if this is applicable to you. Please allow 48 hours after a bout of sickness or diarrhoea before your child returns.
Do you offer funded 15 hours spaces for two year olds.
Yes we do if households receive certain benefits and your application is approved. The funded entitlement will begin the term after their 2nd birthday, subject to availability. Please talk to a team member for more details.
How can I find out if my child is progressing at nursery?
When your child begins nursery they will be assigned to a key person who will support them in their learning and development. Your child will have an individual learning journey profile which their progress within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is recorded. You are welcome to look through your child’s profiles at any time. Every term your child’s key person will hold a parent meeting with yourself. This will provide you with the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and discuss your child’s progress.
Do you provided lunch?
We do provide a hot lunch that is catered from the school. Lunch will only be provided if you would like your child to stay for the lunch time period, subject to availability of space. Lunch starts at 11.45am and will finish at 12.30pm.
