Our well qualified, committed and experienced team works hard to create a caring and learning environment in the pre-school.

We know every child develops differently and at different times. Every child has a key person who understands their needs and interests. This helps us to ensure every child feels involved, stimulated and happy in our care.

We follow rigorous staff recruitment and supervision procedures to ensure anyone joining our team undertakes relevant security checks including Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure, references and qualification checks.

Parents are reassured knowing that child protection and safeguarding underpins every aspect of our practice and is a priority for us.

Your child's 'key person'

Every child who joins the pre-school receives support from an experienced member of the team. They are responsible for your child’s needs and known as the ‘key person’. 

The key person is your main point of contact however all pre-school staff are happy to feedback on your child’s developmental progress on a daily basis or discuss any concerns with you. They will also keep records of your child’s progress and achievement, which are always available for you to see and contribute towards.

Your child’s key person will make time to find out from you about your child’s interests, likes, dislikes and special requirements.

Please share any important or useful information when you register your child and throughout their time with us. 

This helps us to give your child the most appropriate care and learning to suit their developmental, emotional and physical needs. You can access and contribute your views to your child's progress and achievements in their records.

Laura Carter, Early Years Manager, Level 4.

I have worked with children for around 17 years in a range of settings, It’s my passion to ensure that our team provide the very best for our children and families.  I enjoy watching the children grow and develop especially through stories and songs. 

Alison Riddell, Early Years Deputy, Level 3

I have been working with the ÎÞÂëÌìÌà now for 17 years, in a range of different roles. My true passion is supporting the children and their families through what we offer and the wider community offers. 

Our Practioners 

Kelly Zajac- Early Years Educator, SENCO, Level 3.

I have been in childcare for almost 7 years and thrive in completing additional training and courses to become the best practitioner I can be. I enjoy keeping children active and expanding their imaginations through role-play. I love making a difference by supporting children with additional needs to develop in all areas. 

 Kiya Reed- Early Years Educator, Level 3.

I enjoy taking part in different activities and trying new ideas. I love learning about different cultures and celebrating them with the children and their families.  

Ruth Dwamena-Yeboah, Early Years Educator, Level 2

I have worked with the ÎÞÂëÌìÌà for over 7 years in the Peterborough settings. I like to help children achieve their potential whilst making learning fun. 

Karen Matchwick - Early Years Assistant

I have been at discovery Pre-school for 14 years and I like listening to the children chat, giggle and laugh while playing together.
